Dean spun on the spot, feeling eyes all around him, "Cas?"
'Shit, shit, shit,' he thought to himself, "Come on Cas! Don't leave me here alone!"
"Dean," he let out a brief sigh of relief hearing the familiar voice, "I didn't go far."
He wasn't in a mood to care how far it was the angel really went, he was just relieved he hadn't left him. His relief was short lived however as the gravity of the situation hung over his head.
"Cas, what the hell do we do now?"
"We need to find shelter, Dean. Some place to stay out of sight while we think of a plan."
"I thought you said we had a better chance of being ripped apart first?"
"We do if we continue to stand here and talk. Come with me."
Before Dean had time to protest or consent Cas placed two fingers to the hunter's head and they were in another place. Blinking and adjusting his eyes to the new surroundings Dean heard the echos of his own breathing. It was dark and damp, maybe a cave?
"Cas, are we-"
"Still in purgatory? Yes."
"Where in purgatory?" the hunter asked suspiciously.
"I found this place when I left you in that clearing," the angel said turning to face the hunter. Dean could just barely make out his features in the dark, "I apologize for that, as well, Dean."
Had the circumstances been different, he would have given Cas one of his best exasperated laughs, "To be honest, I don't even care anymore," he paused to take a deep breathe before continuing, "What now?"
Cas took a step closer to Dean and motioned to the ground below them, "We rest. This place is not safe, obviously considering its location, but is as safe as can be considering our whereabouts."
Dean made no attempt to protest. He sat and looked up at his companion. He seemed less crazy than he had as of recent, which in all reality Dean was both weary and relieved by. The last thing he needed whilst trying to fight his way out of purgatory was wak-a-doo Cas running amok everywhere. He was a bit cautious, though. Cas had been completely bat-shit crazy just a few hours earlier, and he wasn't going to take any chances of being killed because his angel went crazy. He'd wouldn't have referred to him as his angel under any other circumstances, but at the moment, Dean was completely exposed and objectless. He needed something to own, it made him feel safer, or at the very least, less helpless.
The angel must have noticed Dean's gaze. He returned the gaze for a few minute seconds before looking slightly unnerved and looking away, "What's wrong, Dean?"
"Hm? Nothing," he said leaning farther against the cave wall, or whatever kind of wall it was, "I was just wondering if you were feeling alright actually."
"Why?" Cas asked crouching closer to Dean.
"Just, are you feeling okay?"
"You mean am I feeling like myself?" the angel asked sitting on the ground next to Dean, "I suppose I wouldn't know how to respond to that question, Dean," he said without waiting for Dean to clarify his inquiry, "After all, how can you know what it feels like to be you, if you aren't sure of who you are?"
Dean chocked the question up to be rhetorical and let out a deep sigh. It was quiet for a long moment before Dean heard the rustling of clothing and looked over to see Cas had moved to lean against the wall beside Dean. Acting upon impulse, and being friggin' cold inside the stupid damp cave/hole/whatever the hell it was, he moved closer to Cas until he was able to touch their thighs to each other.
"Would you like my jacket?" Cas asked turning his head so their faces were mere inches apart, "I won't feel the cold Dean, I'm not human. If you are cold, take it." The little shit, was still reading Dean thoughts? Even here?
"No, I'm fine." he said, but his body betrayed letting out a shiver. Without asking again, Cas shrugged off the jacket and laid it over the hunter's shoulders and across his chest.  Dean couldn't help but to think this a shame, not only because he didn't want to give into being cold and accept a handout, even in a place like this, but because Cas would only get his crisp white pants filthy. He laughed to himself at the thought of keeping your clothes clean possibly mattering a situation like this. He moved his gaze back the angel. He looked so exposed without his jacket, it was bizzar for Dean.
"Cas, really man, I'm fine without it."
"No," Cas responded firmly, "You're cold, you need it. I don't want you to get sick, Dean."
Dean pondered the thought for a moment, "Okay" he said quietly looking away, then being hit be an idea that he would have mentally abused himself for in any other circumstance, "but..."
The angel turned looking Dean in the face.
"Share it with me?" he continued through a bitten lip. Every impulse in his brain told him he shouldn't have said it after he did. He wanted to slap himself in the face for even thinking of such a thing, but then again, its not gay when you're trying to survive is it?
He watched as Cas face went from being ready to scold Dean for not accepting his coat again, to turning over the though in his head.
"Having the heat of another body near yours would keep you warmer thus further preventing illness..." Cas trailed off. He seemed to ponder the thought more in his head before moving closer to Dean again, slipping underneath the jacket and pressing his body to Dean's side.
Dean wondered why he'd been so worried. It was warmer almost instantly and he felt almost comfortable. Craving more of the warmth he wiggled himself nearer to the angel, until every part of his side that could be was touching the warm body that sat next to him. Cas seemed unaffected by this action, and for some reason, Dean wasn't sure how to feel about that. The hunter wondered just how much he could give into impulses to harvest more warmth, before the angel began to react. He didn't want to think about it too much though, because Cas was no doubt still raking through his thought at the moment.
It was in that moment he felt the wave of exhaustion fall over him. He hadn't remembered being tired, but he was now apparently. His head lolled a bit before he leaned it back against the cavern wall. It was hard, cold. He didn't like it. He supposed at the moment his body was acting on auto pilot, because it seemed to do everything he didn't want it to to gain more comfort. His head seemed to move its self as it fell onto the shoulder of the being beside him. Cas fidgeted a bit next to him, and for a moment Dean thought he had done something wrong, or his body had at any rate. Cas stopped moving after a moment and Dean realized his squirming had been in an effort to make Dean more comfortable.
Was this really happening? Was Dean really curled up next to Cas, as close as possible, under Cas' frickin' jacket, with his head on Cas' shoulder?
"Yes, Dean," Cas whispered, almost making Dean jump, "This is reality."
"No shit, Sherlock."
"My name is Castiel, Dean."
Dean had forgotten Cas' inability to understand his references until now, and he let out a small half awake laugh. He nuzzled his head into Cas's shoulder and closed his eyes. Its then that he feels something he wasn't expecting. Cas's arm comes around Dean's back and he pulls Dean in closer. He almost jumps with surprise when he realizes that not only is this happening, but he's letting it. He wants to hit Cas for being so forward, he wants to hit himself for giving in to this, but none of it happens. He snuggles closer to the angel's warmth and feels himself start to drift away as Cas's other arm comes around, completely cradling Dean in his arms. Theres the side of his angel he had been taught was there. Compassion, caring, loving...but is he really going to start calling Cas his angel all the time? But his angel has his demon that he'll be dying to get back to...
"No, Dean," he feels whispered against his hair. When did Cas put his head down like that? Its feels so warm, so tender, "Meg is not my demon, but you are my human and I will always be here to look after you." He finishes the sentence with a gentle and hesitant kiss on Dean's head as his hunter nods off in his arms.
Probably just part one, but I'm not sure yet. Yeah, its fluff, but who doesn't love fluff every now and then?
